How long does it take an airsoft biodegradable BB to break down?

  Biodegradable BBs made with PLA plastic are capable of breaking down in both water and carbon dioxide. When tested in a composting facility under controlled conditions, they have been shown to break down in between 47 to 90 days. If left in the outdoors, they will take a little longer provided the environmental conditions are suitable. Some areas may decompose within a year, while other areas may take 3-4 years. It all depends on the climate, moisture, sunlight, and natural erosion. The advantage of using biodegradable BBs is that they will not harm the environment during their decomposing process regardless how long it takes.
