Is a longer barrel more accurate than a shorter one?

I’m new to paintball and I am watching all these players at my field, and all these videos on the internet of players using these long barrels. Why? The barrel that came on my gun seems to shoot pretty good but it seems like everyone at the field has spent a hundred bucks or more on a nice long barrel or some kind of barrel kit – is a longer paintball gun barrel more accurate than a shorter one?

I've always heard that 12 inch to 16 is the best for accuracy. In my experience that is correct. 14 is the standard size for most speedball guns. Longer barrels like the 16 inch is perfect for woodsball so you can get that barrel threw the landscapes.
